A reminder that keeps ringing until you answer it
Most reminders are a notification, and a notification is easy to swipe away without doing the thing. A Nimits reminder takes over the screen and comes back every five minutes until you complete it or skip it.
Turning it away is not an answer
When a reminder is due it rings like an alarm clock, full screen, even over a locked phone. Leave it and it rings again five minutes later. It stops for two answers only: Complete, when you did it, and Skip, when you decided not to.
The gap is yours to set, under Settings › Re-ring every.
Snooze, but not for ever
Snooze is there for when the moment is wrong, and the screen tells you which snooze you are on. It is capped, five by default, because a snooze with no limit is only a slower dismiss. When the snoozes run out, Nimits records the reminder as missed instead of dropping it.
Not everything needs to insist
The alarm type is set on each reminder, so the things that matter can insist and the rest can stay quiet:
- Persistent: rings every 5 min until completed
- Once: one notification, no re-ring
- Gentle: two nudges, then marks itself missed
Each type has its own sound and vibration, so the one you cannot miss never sounds like the one you can.
Answer it without opening the app
Done, Snooze and Skip also sit on the notification, so a reminder can be answered without opening the app, with Undo straight after. On the home screen, the Needs you widget shows what is waiting.
A record you can trust
History shows what was completed, skipped or missed, a month at a time. A skipped reminder is left out of your figures, so “I already did it” never counts against you.
